After more than 3 ½ years as President of the United States, Barack Obama has proven conclusively that he is the wrong man, in the wrong place at the wrong time. Mr. Obama took office in January 2009 after promising in his campaign that he would bring much “change” to America. The majority of American who voted for him were badly suckered because he was never required in that campaign to explain what he meant by “change!” Most voters never suspected that his change would bring failure and disaster to virtually every critical tenet of U.S. public policy.
Despite his comprehensive failure, he has the political guts to ask the American people to give him a second term. If he were a CEO of a major corporation he would have been fired long ago. If he were a coach or manager of a professional sports team, he would be playing golf every day instead of managing the assembled talent.
Mr. Obama’s governing weaknesses are legendary. Of course his campaign strengths are also legendary. He came to the Presidency with no idea how a nation like America should be governed. How the American economy works was never part of his training, political experience or mindset.
Unlike Harry Truman, who also came to the Presidency quite unprepared, Mr. Obama has failed to grasp the dynamics of his office and completely flunked, unlike Mr. Truman, his on-the-job training. With job creation falling precipitously, he calls for more government spending while carrying on his political warfare and insults against small business owners and Americans who are financially successful. Bigger government and more control over our lives is his personal objective.
Most Americans are not better off than they were when this great deceiver won the 2008 election. The economy is still staggering and blaming George Bush, the Republicans and the wealthy isn’t going to turn it around. It is a common human trait to blame others for ones failure and if the America voters accept his con-game a second time, they will have to suffer consequences much greater than just a second failed Obama term. It will be our own fault. Suckered once by Barack Obama was a great blemish on the American voters who pulled the lever to elect him. To be suckered twice by his abject failure will be an unmitigated disaster and our own responsibility.
Lest voters forget and fall for his blame game against Bush, Romney, Republicans, and the Tea Party movement, it would hopefully be helpful to once again call to their attention Obama’s dismal record of failure.
While I believe his failure with the economy and the national debt are doing the most damage to the American people, I feel it is imperative to start the indictment against Obama by noting his leadership failure. Most critically, Mr. Obama substitutes talk for effective policies and actions. Despite his prolific ability to read a teleprompter, he brought no tough administrative and national policy making skills to his office. He unfortunately believes he can lead America and solve our nation’s serious problems simply by talking and engaging in more incessant political blabbering.
The President’s most glaring weakness of course is the economy. Though the official unemployment rate is 8.2%, the actual rate hovers near 16%. Most businesses, both small and large, are adding few employees for several reasons: they have no confidence in Mr. Obama; the health care mess has them deeply worried; tax policy is unclear because Mr. Obama wants to significantly raise taxes on business people; and finally the maze of Federal regulations under which they must operate are getting much worse instead of better. I am quite certain this economy would correct itself if Mr. Obama and his “government knows best” crowd would wise up and take a long needed permanent vacation.
Mr. Obama’s second greatest failure, and in the long term the most dangerous for America is the nation’s debt. This hapless President has added $3.1 trillion to the debt in just the past two years. Meanwhile our foreign debt is approaching $16 Trillion, much of it held by China, leaving every American with a $50,000 obligation under that debt.
The Democratically controlled Senate has not passed a federal budget for three years. Mr. Obama has simply abdicated his responsibility to carry out the hardnosed, but necessary negotiations with the House and Senate leaders to resolve these problems. On this issue, as with so many others, he chooses to blame, rather than lead. Economic disaster looms for the American people as it does for several nations in Europe and debt is the reason. Yet Obama not only fails to address it, he compounds it with his continued deficit spending.
In the field of energy, he has gotten it mostly wrong. He foolishly pushes green energy despite the fact that green sources of fuel are years away from providing the sustainable quantities necessary for America’s energy requirements. The President and his administration have restricted drilling permits even as he cancels the Keystone pipeline from Canada and burns up $500 million at Solyndra in a blatant case of crony capitalism and failed technology.
The far reaching consequences of Obamacare continue to pile up. Thanks to Chief Justice Roberts’ illogical and stupid vote that the fine upon those who don’t carry personal health insurance is really a tax and hence constitutional, the bureaucracies, taxes, spiraling costs of healthcare continue to compound upon Americans and small businesses. The exceptions granted by the Obama Administration continue to expand and represent a growing reality that Obamacare is a malignant noose around the neck of America’s small business owners.
In the foreign policy national security arena he assumes disproportionate success in the killing of Osama bin Laden. All he did was approve the operation which was carried our exceptionally well by the Navy Seal Team. He says too little about those incredible young men and their military professionalism. The President’s policies toward Iran and Syria are at best indeterminate, and to claim success in Egypt where both the Presidency and the Parliament are now controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood is quite premature, a fact which is sobering to contemplate. If you don’t believe this writer, ask the Israelis, whom Mr. Obama manages to periodically offend in a way undeserving a staunch and loyal ally.
And of course the scandals in Mr. Obama’s administration continue apace. Fast and Furious, GSA, Secret Service, Solyndra and critical national security leaks, are all indicators of a President and his cohorts who obviously believe that they can fool most of the people all of the time.
Americans ask the President to make hard but necessary decisions in governing our nation. What do we get from Barack Obama instead? Excuses, the blame game against Bush, Romney, Republicans, the wealthy, Fox News and a plea for four more years of unmitigated disaster. The Campaigner in Chief is President only of his far left base and the suckers on Wall Street who pour millions into the campaign coffers of a failed Presidency.
It is time for common sense Americans to look at the Obama record of abject failure and exercise one of their most sacred rights. It’s time to remove Mr. Obama from the White House by exercising their constitutional right to vote out of office a man and his cohorts who have failed America. If we don’t it is our own damn fault. The disaster will adversely affect America for decades.
